Stig asked in the comments, what tools I use to record the screencasts on my system. Well, here we go:

OrgMode tutuorial – Episode 2
A lot happened to my YouTube channel in the last week. I got a lot of new subscribers and a lot of comments on my OrgMode screencast. This week I recorded again 5 snippets that sum up to Episode 2. Looks like that the people like those snippets a lot because they are relatively short and not so much complex. My goal is to be inside a time box of 5 to 10 minutes for a snippet, sometimes I extend that, but usually the recording fits to that boundaries. Weiterlesen
OrgMode Tutorial – Episode 01
This article is in English because of my friends in the LinkedIn GTD group. I recently had the idea that I should produce some screencast tutorial for OrgMode because then I can show how things work and this is maybe more helpful than just writing about it.
Rethinking the Weekly Review with OrgMode
Another english article in my blog for the LinkedIn GTD group and there specially for Jarrod who asked how we do our weekly review fresh, exciting and realistically achievable. Good question Jarrod, so I thought about how I was doing the weekly review in the past and what I could do better. For all non-GTD poeple: The weekly review is a basic concept withing GTD. You must review your ToDo lists every week.
Habits vs. Plans
(This posting is in English again because I will probably link to it from the LinkedIn GTD group.)
My favorite tool for GTD (Getting Things Done) is Orgmode. I’m using it every day and I try to achieve as much as possible with it. And from time to time i step back a bit and look at it and think how I could improve this tool. So these days I was thinking about my attempts to learn the electric bass guitar and the ToDos I have put in my Orgmode file for that.
Taking OrgMode to the next level
This is another article about OrgMode and its again in English for the audience of the LinkedIn GTD group. Yes, I confess it. I was a bit envious on those people that have their ToDo-Lists on paper just for the fact that they have something they can check off and get the satisfaction to see what they have achieved. OrgMode is a nice ToDo-List manager, but once you have marked a task as „DONE“ it will sooner or later get moved to the archive file. And your actual list just contains a lot of TODO entries. So I was desperately thinking about improving this in a way that I can also „check off things“ from an easy list. And then I had an idea.
On the road with MobileOrg
This is another article about the usage of Emacs OrgMode for GTD. Its again written in English for the audience at the LinkedIn GTD group. Orgmode is perfect when you use it on your desktop PC. But sometimes the desktop is not available and you still want to have access to your tasks and capture ideas. This is when MobileOrg kicks in.
The power of orgmode capture templates
Notice: This blog article is written in English on purpose so that the group members of the LinkedIn GTD group can read it as well. I will post some more articles about orgmode in the future, so stay tuned if you are interested.

Back to text
Some months ago I wrote a review of IQTELL which I used for organizing my life. Then, 2 weeks ago a collauge asked me if I still use orgmode for GTD and I told him that I’m on IQTELL now. He said that orgmode also had improved a lot since I was using it, so I had another look at orgmode. And yes, I felt the spirit again and moved back to orgmode. Here is why I decided to manage my life in plain text again. Weiterlesen
