Die Aufgabe scheint einfach: Herunterladen des Kreditkarten-Kontoauszuges und audrucken desselben. Das Herunterladen klappt auch wunderbar, kpdf zeigt den Auszug auch schön an, doch beim Ausdruck kommt nix aus dem Drucker raus. Warum?
Der Ausdruck auf beliebigen Drucker passiert über CUPS und einen Ghostscript-Filter. Gibt man mit kpdf die Datei erst mal als Postscript aus und ruft dann Ghostscript auf, dann sieht man woran es klemmt:

Interessanterweise kann man den Kontoauszug mit dem Acrobat-Reader auf einem 32-bit-System ausdrucken, aber das AMD64-Paket „acroread“ das es für Debian gibt hat den Schönheitsfehler, daß es zwar die Datei schön anzeigt, aber dafür alle Menü-Texte nur als Klötzchen.
Es gibt aber auch die wenig bekannte Möglichkeit, acroread sozusagen alls Kommondozeilentool aufzurufen. Mit dem Aufruf von
| acroread -toPostScript -shrink -size a4 Auszug.pdf |
wird dann erst mal eine PostScript-Datei erzeugt die dann auch wieder problemlos mit Ghostscript kann und auch ausgedruckt werden kann.
